Either it was Heathrow or Gatwick. Mandi coming in from Istanbul, joined us in London. We were on our way to the USA from Tanzania. I took a tumble, only my pride was hurt.
Seminary taught me how to read and dig deeper into the Word. Trying to communicate into another culture, is like one football team playing by American rules and the opponent playing by Canadian rules. Why would you not try to return a punt from the end zone?
Pray for missionaries as they communicate cross culturally.
I really thought WOW. Still do!
There is the call from God. Then there was the other call. Cindy and I already agreed to go to Tanzania, but it was a place a few hours from Dar es Salam. Larry Pumpelly’s call to Kigoma stretched us. Three-days-out with six children.
When the Holy Spirit calls you, please answer.
The bats in Kigoma were dogs with wings. Every year hundreds of the bats roosted in our coconut trees. From this science lesson I learned bats don’t like early morning wake up calls.
My first Bible lesson in Mongolia was five short sentences (Subject, verb, and object). You are on Holy ground when you translate from your heart language to their heart language. For me it took years!
